Small update

I just thought I'd mention why we've been slow for the last week. I'm currently wrapping up a project for an old friend of mine that probably won't be complete until this weekend. At the same time, I'm also starting another small site which I will reveal in the coming weeks.

I am not saying that I'm going to stop updating TheGameHippo. I'm simply explaining why you haven't seen a new game up in a few days. Don't worry, more reviews are on the way!

We're back!

On my way to writing this message, I managed to spill a full glass of Root Beer on my keyboard. It was pretty funny, to be honest. Anyway, sorry for the extremely late post-cruise update. SoupHat and I had quite a bit of fun, though the ship was severely lacking in single girls our age (They were either old or newly weds).

As expected, the user ratings have been put back up and new reviews are on their way!

Preventing Spam - Suggestions
:: 01-05-10 ::

We were hit by what appears to be the same spammer as before. He thought he would be clever by occasionally rating a game highly, but the majority were 2's and 1's. Of course, I blacklisted him, but I'd like to make blacklisting automated so that we aren't completely spammed while I'm away on TheGameHippo cruise.

I could limit the amount of ratings allowed in a specific time-frame, but some of you may play 10 or so games and go back and rate them all at once, causing you to be banned from the site. So the question is, what do you all feel is a fair and safe way to automatically blacklist a visitor? Is there something you do with honest intentions that could possibly be mistaken for spam? Let me know your ideas on Facebook or the forums.
